My teachers have just decided that I could be dyslexic, and I have to take a test next thursday :'(
the worst thing is, I was reading about it... and I think they could be right :/ :(
you should look on it positively. if you do have it, it's good it's been detected. this means you can get the extra help you need, whether that be extra attention from the teacher in class or even valuable extra time in your exams!
don't let it think it's going to hold you back. If you still work hard and to the best of your ability, no doubt you cn still get those top grades! :)
true, I guess that if I've got to 16 okay, it's not going to do much damage knowing there's an issue I've had all along
exactly, and are you doing GCSEs this year? how have you done in your exams so far?
no, As-levels this year, I got in GCSE: an A* in biology, an A in Physics, a D in citizenhip, and all the rest were Bs ...I confess, I'm not well known for paying attention in lessons or revising... so there's probably a chance I would've done better if I had...
A*, A and Bs! that's brilliant!
and you said you didn't put in as much work as you could have, imagine what you could have come out with if you had! if you come out with those grades and are possibly dyslexic then i really think you have no worries! keep up the good work, do some extra and i'm sure you will do very well in A levels :)
thanks :) by the way, I've not seen you around before, but you're everywhere! How long've you been on GR?
I don't usually come on the discussion boards to be honest, normally just the resources
But since may 2011:) you?
Hi inferno, don't worry about being dyslexic, I know a few people who are abd they are doing very well with their lives and if you got A*'s in exams then you can't be that bad. :)
I've been around for about the same time, but I don't usually go on the resources, so that explains why we've not met I guess! You seem to be helping people all over the place, that's really nice of you :)
thanks, I have to take a dyslexia test on thursday :/ not keen...
sorry for the late reply trying to write an english essay.
you should check out the resources, i've found loads that are really helpful for me!
I've just finished my a levels and am now just passing my wisdom on:P and it's good to try help:)
well good luck, let us know how it goes!
Hey inferno, have a look at these people:
Leonardo Da Vinci
They have all been diagnosed with dyslexia or learning difficulties related to dyslexia, yet see how far they got / are still going (with Mr. Bloom). It needn't be a bad thing, and if the test reveals you do have it, wear it like a badge of pride. I know this probably doesn't compare but my school sent me away for a social anxiety disorder test some time ago, so I can relate to that nasty feeling before taking a test like that.
That is a great point EdInABox! they are all really sucessfull with what they have!
mika is dyslexic too. he couldn't read until the age of 11, and now he speaks 3 languages and writes his own music, he can't read music either, so he taught himself to play piano by ear. I think that's amazing. can't wait until the 8th octoberXD
Wow, that really cool.
What happens on the 8th october? seeing him or something?
no but I wish i was, his new album 'the orgin of love' comes out then, I preordered it so it should come on that day. so happy.
well, I'll let you guys know when I get my results
yes do. you'll be fine either way :)
I'm bored anyone want to talk.:)
HI, thank you I thought i would die of bordem lol
