I don't get binomial expansion (AQA core 2 maths AS) I don't understand past paper questions on it either e.g. January 2012 question 5b and January 2010 question 7a and b.

DEFINITELY CHOOSE STATISTICS!!! Sorry but I would not recommend mechanics to anyone!! It's the hardest thing I'm currently doing because it makes no sense! Maths itself is all right, core 1 starts off easy (compared to core 2) but it lets you in gently to the A level - core 2 does get harder though. Only go for maths AS level if you are going to get an A or A* at GCSE. But yeah it is a good A level to do and obviously looks good on any CV/uni application. But seriously don't do mechanics unless you want to be confused forever! I wish someone had told me to do stats!

Hi!

I'm still doing my GCSE's but i came across this website...

http://www.mathsrevision.net/alevel/pages.php?page=3

... It explains the topic well. It has links to other topics too, on the side.

Hope it helps.

P.S. Can u tell me how you are finding maths, because i would like to do it as an a-level next year? And cud u advise me on which to choose out of mechanics and statistics?

Thanks **

You'll be fine to do maths at A level! You could always look into decision? But I have heard that stats is easier - just a lot of formulas but you don't have to remember them.
