Good French Songs?

  • 0 votes

I've recently found Rufus Wainwright's version of La Complainte de la Butte and I love it. this got me thinking that listening to French music could help with my pronounciation and my listening skills so I wondered if any of you know any similar french songs? Or other, equally lovely ones?

Thank you x

Hi :)

http://www.lyricsgaps.com/ is a really good website for this - you pick a letter across the top and it gives you a list of songs in that letter. There're quite a few different languages on the website, and if you click on a song and select a difficulty, it plays you a song and gets you to fill in the gaps.

http://platea.pntic.mec.es/~cvera/hotpot/chansons/index.htm looks a bit odd, but has songs ordered by their grammar, and little activities to go with them - filling in the gaps or selecting the correct line. If you look at 'la grammaire par les chansons' on the left-hand menu, then you can pick which tense or word types you want to revise. I don't know how 'lovely' most of the songs are (they're probably not) but the activities are quite helpful.

Other than that, there's always https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5hrUGFhsXo. A bit of light-hearted fun :)
