Getting Fit

I want to get fit and be healthy but none of my friends will do excercise with me and I don't want to go out and do it on my own. I'm not fat and don't want to lose weight, I just want to get fit and healthy. Does anyone have any tips I can use to start and be healthy because I'd really appreiciate them :) x

Well im in the same situation I train about 3 times a week but i find it hard to do any exercise outside of that. To just stay fit you just gotta jog which is good for up to 30+ mins. I spose its not great jogging with mates as they often have a different jogging pace. Also around the house u can do a few press ups or sit ups around the house maybe 20 sit ups everyday after u wake up and the same before u go to bed. little things like that

if you don't want to do it all by your own in public may be you could try doing some exercises in a room.

For muscular strength/ endurance you could do sit ups,press ups or squat thusts with no equipment. You could try to do tricep dips on the edge of a steady chair, step ups on a set of steps or a steady stool.

To improve your Cardiovascular fitness you could run up and down the stairs for atleast 20 minutes a day. This will improve your fitness levels alot and you don't have to leave your home.

Make sure that you drink atleast 1/4 of a cup of water every 15 minutes to prevent dehydration.

I hope i have given you some ideas. You can also look at some of my resources i have put up some circuit training cards that may give you some ideas and you might be able to use household objects to improvise instead of going to the gym or working out with friends.

This might sound really weird/stupid but do you think doing about an hour on my wii fit each day could help. You know like, doing yoga and the jogging stuff on there?? If so that'd be good 'cause I don't get embarrassed when I'm on that 'cause I see it as more of a laugh than having to push myself to get fit.

yeah of course the wii fit is a very good idea but make sure you push yourself and don't stay in comfort zones when exercising. you should be abit out of breath and sweating after.

Okay then. Thankyou, I'm gonna move it back into my room tomorrow, it was in the spare room till my brother moved back in. Lol. And I used to go on it a lot up until just before Christmas. Is there anything I can eat to be healthier?? I can't do what celebs do though and be like "I have a jacket potato everyday for lunch" because I'm at school and there meals are awful and I just get bored of eating the same thing everyday. Would appreiciate it if you did. If not it doesn't matter. Thankyou Hayley :)

how about trying to eat atleast two lots of fruit and three portions of veg, and try to eat the correct amounts of each food group a day.

You could make your own packed lunch to try and include a variety of food (with taste) You could try some pasta with a source and mixed veg or herbs, home made cottege pie (can be made the night before and heated in the morning) , ect and put it into a small plastic food storage box, with a lid. These will fill you up and give you lots of energy. school meals are always boring and tastless. and instead of drinking fizzy drinks plain water will fill you up too and does lots of good as it's an anti-oxident and good for the skin or try some pure fruit juice such as orange, apple or cranberry (yummy) these are also very good, but cranberry has lots more benefits than the other two juices.

I drink a lot of water anyway, it's pretty much all I drink to be fair yet my skin is still awful lol. Thanks by the way, I've been doing loads on my wii fit since I moved it back in my room :)

Have been doing lol. My lazy friend wanted to catch the bus from mine to hers yesterday 'cause we were gonna get her stuff so she could sleep at mine and it's only 20-25 minutes away so I made her walk. She had no choice in the matter I was just like "Hayley, we're walking!" lol. Thanks for the tips by the way, appreiciate it :)
