Genetic Bottleneck - a sharp reduction in the popultion of a species due to sudden abiotic / biotic changes. This limits the variation in the gene pool of a population meaning that the surviving population may struggle to adapt.

Found Effecter - Small initial starting population which reduces the avilable genetic variation in the gene pool consequently genetic diseases are more likely to be inherited. Often related to inbreeding.
