General Question on AS Exams and the Spec

  • 0 votes

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I was wondering if AS exams were limited to the specifications? In all my subjects when I look over lesson work I find things that aren't written on the specification. Do I need to revise these extra details or should I stick to what is said by the spec instead? I've e-mailed Edexcel and AQA and they haven't been all that helpful.

Many thanks.

It is best to just revise what is on the spec because the exam boards can't ask you anything which is not on there, sometimes teachers will give you extra bits of information just to aid you with understanding the information you need to learn- sometimes my teachers do this, so when I am revising or writing notes I keep the spec with me so that I don't start learning something I don't need to especially when I have a million other things to learn for other subjects

Hope this helps

Yes it did help, thank you :) I find that a lot of my teachers tell me irrelevant information so this clears things up.

Glad I could help :)
Also, sometimes text books have a lot of background information in so when I am reading through them I make sure I know what is irrelevant so I skip those pages
