GCSE mark schemes?

Hi, I am currently taking Edexcel Biology GCSE. My teacher says if you do foundation you can still get an overall grade A in it? Is that true? How do the UMS grades work? I'm doing higher for Biology and if it's true then I should have done foundation! May consider doing foundation for chemistry and physics if that's the case.. thanks:-)

I don't think that is true, the highest you can get is a C++ (one mark off a B)

really? I thought they added up the points (both tests are out of 60) so then say if someone got all 60 in foundation it'd add up to the grade requirements you need for an A? Would you need to take all higher papers to get an A?

you may be able to do a mix of higher and foundation to get an A, but you can't get an A by just doing foundation.
