What is the best way to prepare for this exam? I am doing of mice and men so there will be an extract question, and a question on the novel as a whole. How should I plan my essay for the 20 minute question? Thank you! :)

Hey! I did this exam in January; got an A*. I just kept on reading through the CGP revision guides and read the book. Whilst I was reading it I wrote my own interpretations. Make sure you understand EVERYTHING even the small things. For planning the first part of the question I just wrote main ideas and quotes and use quotes from other chapters but mainly from the extract that's why it's there. And for the second question it's context based right? Yeah relate your own opinions, and wider issues and weather it is relevant in today's society etc. I think I'm going off the question a bit but yeah GOOD LUCK! Just stay focused. :)

Thank you, that is really helpful :) How did you find the unseen poetry section?

Hey :) I suggest you check these websites out

http://www.shmoop.com/of-mice-and-men/

http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/micemen

they summarise it really well, and looks closely at quotes, analysing at them, so maybe familiarise yourself well with the novel, because I always find the more you know something, the better you will do as you understand it more. good luck !

btw the website looks at "of mice and men", i hope that is the novel you are studying :/
