I managed to get a B in english, but I think it was only just, I am really annoyed about the sudden rise in marks needed to get a C and above, does anyone share my view? and has anyone been badly effected by this?
I'm not annoyed because I got an A but my friends were badly affected and ended up failing. Although I was extremely annoyed when it came out in the news because for my English exam my school wasn't told to teach us about Blogs and we had to write one!
I just think it's wrong how the exam boards can mess with peoples futures and they think it's ok becuase they are letting people retake them in november, for some people that is too late, it's not good enough. sorry but it really annoys me. :I
No, I totally agree that it's unfair. My friend was told on Thursday that she can retake and because it's in November it's coming along at the same time as her History retake which the school screwed up for her.
To them it's just a number on a sheet of paper but for us it's our future, especially since I'm the first year that has to stay on to Post-16/college/whatever every grade is important because it's so much harder to be accepted next year!
most colleges/6th forms won't accept you unless you have a gcse english, so if you failed then you can't start college until after you retake.
I'm okay because I Aced my Language and my maths but there's still a lot of competition
well done, I got a B for english and considering everyhting I was very pleased, a B was all I needed to do english for a level.
Thank you, is the B including coursework or just the exam? I only know that I got an A on the exam but considering the most I've ever missed out on my coursework was 4 marks (I got 26/30 for one essay) I think I'll be okay :)
Which English A level? Language or Lit? I want to do both (assuming my lit GCSE goes okay this year)
the B was the overall grade, my coursework was an A and i'm doing english lang and lit (combined) I'm enjoying it so far.
