For the unseen poem, make sure to analyse any themes, the tone, the imagery used and the poem's structure.

Look for things like similies, or metaphors and rhymes or enjambment.

For example : Poem A uses enjambment , giving it a quick pace.

With the essays, the simple structure to follow is comparing them in terms of themes, tone, imagery, structure and personal response.

For example : Poem A and B both express the theme of violence.

Poem A uses images of death and guns to highlight violence, and similarly, Poem B also mentions guns.

alliteration has an effect ........you just have to see what effect it has, does it speed the pace up ? e.g.blowing,banging ,booming .....or makes the text flow at a slower pace. Alliteration is mainly to do with sound and emphasising a point usually, and it's memorable ~?
