What is Edexcel ResultsPlus?

What's the benefit of ResultsPlus? Couldn't you just go into school to get the results?

The benefit is for those who don't want to go into school to get their results.
Some people can't make it to school (or don't want to go for some reason), that's kind of the whole point... :/
It also shows your exam breakdown. So what mark you got on every question on every paper. That way, you can see what you're weak on and need to improve

Oh and it also shows how you did in comparison to the average mark across everyone who sat it.

Thanks for the help! We weren't told about ResultsPlus so I wasn't sure what it was for. Especially since we only do one Edexcel qualification and we get our results emailed anyway...

That seems quite useful! Unfortunately, the only Edexcel paper we do is Maths. It would be much better if this was somehow a universal site.

The exam boards are in competition with each other and this is one of Edexcel's USPs. Results Plus is very helpful - it shows you what you got for every part question, e.g. 7 a i and what the national average was and how close you are to grade boundaries. It also shows these details for every exam you've taken at your centre (but not, I think, for previous centres) which can be helpful if you've forgotten and are filling in UCAS stuff. (For centres it also shows summaries of how all the students have done, e.g. your school average for 7 a i was 2.1, national average was 2.7, plus a whole lot more.)

Your exam officer could fix you up with an account - try asking if you are interested.

I actually have an account: I was sent an email about it but we weren't told anything else. That's why I was confused on what the point of the system was.

But, I agree, it seems really useful! And I know that it won't have any other exam board information but I was just saying that it would be great if the system grew to something akin to UCAS where a separate body would allow access to all this data from all exam boards.

You may notice that somewhere on your exam paperwork is a 10 digit ULN (Unique Learner Number). They were invented about 6 years ago with the idea that it would tie up all your qualifications (the UCI and centre number/candidate number only works for A levels and GCSEs and even then there is no central record). For a variety of reasons ULNs got off to a slow start but they became compulsory for state school pupils this year. I believe the plan is that you should be able to get an account where you can check everything recorded against your ULN but it seems a long time coming.
