Does anyone here suffer from migranes?

I have been suffering with migranes for nearly a year, the doctor has tried a load of tablets with me and none seem to work, we cannot find a pattern, she has refered me but my family want to see if they can make me better without the doctors, can anyone suggest anything or are you going through the same sort of thing? **

Well it is quite difficult but I'll try to see if i can give something (P.S im not a doctor but i work in a pharmacy!!). Usually I would askif you are on regular medications. Second I would ask if you are above 16 years old becuase if not then it would limit the amount of medication you can take due to your age. Furthermore I would ask if you have been drinking plenty of water and have been drinking it occasionally. I would ask this because when you are dehydrated or lacking water in your body it restricts bodily functions especially near your head causing headaches and migraines. Also I would ask if you have been stressful about anything lately, these do include exams etc. Furthermore I would ask if you have sinusitis which is where your  sinus cavity around your nose becomes inflammed causing pressure on your head and around your eyes.

If you could answer these questions please so i can see what the best thing is and furthermore if i cant then there might be some queries that you could pose your GP if they dont know some of the symptoms you are having e.g like sinusitis!!

Usually I would go for something like Syndol if you can find it for the purpose that it contains codeine and a muscle relaxant which will reduce the pressure of migraines in your head. Just to remind you that no more than 3 days if taking syndol as it can cause addiction!  However syndol is very hard to find so if you cannot find it try something like solpadeine migraine but confirm with your doctor before taking these as obviously im not qualified and only 17 years old so quite hard to trust what im saying but always best to make sure. Anyway this is as far as my knowledge goes.

anyway hope you get better and hope i have helped

Hmm sounds really tough because of your age. What have you had so far cause then i might be able to shortlist what the best option is for ya.. !!!

Anyway ask your doctor about the ones i told you to try, and if they say to try it then go for it but other than that i think this is out of my knowledge sorry!
