Try asking around in your local doctors surgeries or dentists, they might offer you a place but; because of confidentiality you might not be able to sit in while diagnostics are being given instead you will probably be working on reception or something.
Or a vets surgery.
Maybe a primary school science department (because when i was doing my work placement i wasn't able to chose to work in my school because 1. I knew too many people and 2. We were not allowed to work with our own age group)

I'm not sure about any other sciency type places you could go to

Or just tell the person in charge of finding you a work placement that you want to work in the science field and they should be able to find you a placement!

Hope this helps! :)

The science department of a school - maybe lab technician or a teacher.

In a museum.

Civil engineering placement.

Asides from this it is nearly impossible to get pre-university work placements in science, especially chemistry. Maybe if you have a family member working in a lab or science related job they might let you shadow them.

Im doing my work experience too :). I doubt you'll be able to do it in a lab because of health and safety reasons (blah blah blah), but I would try asking at something like a Pharmacists, Chemists, Dentist or Doctors or something like that. I think you would have a chance at doing it at a pharmacy because I know someone who got a place there.

Otherwise, I would just apply at a school and then ask whether you could work as a science assistant or lab technician or something.

Anyways, hope this helps. And good luck with your placement :)

:) PurpleJaguar (: is right you can't actually sit in during diagnosis - my friend was turned down because of this. But you might be able to help out in other places. A vet surgery might be easier to get a placement at.
