does anyone have any idea what eliptical means??

It has something to do with orbits and satellites, but i have no idea what it is. For people doing unit three physics tomorrow.

I think it means that the orbit of say a planet isnt a perfect circle, more like an oval. Like this image (the blue line)

It's the shape of the orbit of planets ... the obits aren't a circle, more like an oval this is what the ellipse is !

eliptical means like an oval shape, thats how the planets orbit our sun :) in an eliptial orbit :)

an oval or egg shaped orbit, the moon has an elliptical orbitaround the earth, so do commits around the sun (:

It is an oval like shape that is usually the orbit planets and comets use and travel around the sun

Ok on Wikianswers.com is says
Elliptical is used to describe an orbit or a round shape That isn't perfectly circular-it's An ellipse or oval
