could u help me with the core 1 coz i lyk really dont understand anything....nd ma examz in january...pleassee helpppp
I do it but I don't know if I could be much help - what are you stuck with?
sequences and series...hav u done this yet?
No :/ is that in core 1? I've done surds, quadratics, coordinate geometry, differentiation and just started cubics.
yeah it is...ohhh well its ok :P
u cud help me on somefin else tho....
ummm the equation x^2 + 3px + p = 0, where p is a non-zero constant and has equal roots. find the value of p..
What's a non-zero constant?
i dunno tbh :(
It's a value that isn't 0.
To solve you work out the discriminant, which is (3p)^2-4p=0
You know it equals 0 because when the discriminant equals the graph only has one real root.
Work out the equation which gives 9p^2-4p=0
Normally you would get 0 as a value of p but because its told you that p cannot be 0
To get p you re-arrange the equation giving p=4/9 which is your answer.
Hope this helps :)
thanx molly ^_^
Post It world wide you might get an answer
ask at school if they have set up an account for you on Integral Maths
It has plenty of stuff on it that should help you learn it.
