One way is to donate your body for medical research. It could be quite hard for your parents to accept, so you should prepare them beforehand. You should also have contingency plans in case your body doesn't meet the very exacting standards of the medical authority concerned.

The cost of a funeral comes out of the deceased's estate. If there isn't enough money and the family can't afford to pay, then the council may pay. You don't have to have a funeral service if you don't want one. If you don't make provision, then the council will probably dispose of the body in the cheapest way. If the parents can afford it, then they may be liable for the costs.

You don't have to have a funeral... it's just done out of respect.

Some people just get cremated without any sort of funeral....

or some people just have a memorial service and no funeral ((Yes, there's a difference :p))
