Hey everyone. I don't know about you, but I always get confused about the different theories and mix them up and it really brings my grade down. I was wondering if any of you have a way of remembering which person belongs to which theory!!! funtionalist - durkeim and merton. marxism - etc etc ...
Hope to hear from you! Thanks x
Is this like chapter 4 in the text book>?
Because we have covered socilogical theories as well and i dont get it either :(
All I can think of is creating pages with each perspectives on the top and underneath, write a relevant sociologist and a key point of their study........
For example, Functionalism - Durkheim - 'tradition does not arouse, but tends to rather to preclude, thought and reflection'....
Marxism - Marx - 'Religion is an opiate of the people'.........
Feminist - Oakley - OF
Marxism - Marx - M&M
Functionalism - Emile Durkheim, Parsons - FEP
Postmodernity - Lyotard - LP
hope this helps a bittt?
yea thanks! its the main part of sociology that i find hard!
do colour coded revision cards for what they say on each topic
all my feminisim cards are pink "stereotypically female colour" & all my marxism cards are red "because of the angry class conflict" & functionalism are green "for the consensus happiness"
