(i know this is not school or work related, but i really need help :'( so i hope this question doesn't get deleted)
ok... um i have a fear of the dentist, i have braces and i have a check-up every 2 months by my orthadonist. what happens is that she tightens my braces and i can't chew for a week. i thought this was my fear, you know because it was painful and stuff. but even if i visit my normal dentist the same thing happens, i get nervous and very scared.
awww bless =D everyones scared of something. i have braces too and it is very painful when tightened. T_T lol just think everytime you go to the dentist 'i can do this.. there are people out there who are fighting in wars and people who are living through earthquakes etc... this is just the dentist if they can handle those problems then surely i can handle the dentist' then you go to ur appointment dentist does his/her thing then BANG ur done!! its not that bad try this method it worked for my sister
=D hope i helped!!!

i know exactley what you are going through. I have braces and have to have them adjusted every few months and it is awful but I think the best way to deal with it is to know that each time you are able to get through it, positive thinking helps a lot. also, as you can't chew anything you can have loads of ice cream so make sure you take full advantage of that, just eat anything soft, yogurts, vegetable soup, pasta and ice cream all work for me.
Im going to get braces, but I think they will be worth it because my teeth will look nicer. People in my class have got braces and I think when they get them of everyone notices. It might be painful but in the end it's worth it.
