What Uni is a really good website

http://www.whatuni.com/

Just type in the course you want to do and it shows you everywhere that does it, rankings, student reviews and you can order prospectus' off their website :)

Also, if you want to be in a certain part of the country you can specify that ***

I'd go to lots of university open days. If you find one you like, you should definitely mention enjoying the open days, taster lectures, demonstrations etc in your personal statement. What the admissions officer is going to want to know is why you like that particular subject, and how you intend to use your degree.

A lot of people just go to university for the sake of going to university, so they're not really that commited to the course. The admissions tutor only wants to take people on who they think are going to be 100% committed to the course and are going to work hard.

I imagine with something like Biology the course material may vary from university to university. Look at each uni's website to get a good idea of the course. Take a look at what careers the students from that uni have gone on to do.

Most importantly, be realistic about whether or not you will be able to achieve the entry requirement and whether you can afford to live away from home.
