!st of all in you need to know what 'a' is in the question it should say what the probability is;

for example :

Each time i use a spinner the probability of getting a 2 is 1/4

given that X~Geo(1/4)

P(X>6) = (3/4)^6 *(3/4 is the probability of not getting {1-P} )

= 729/4096 = 0.178

use the tables to see which value comes closest to 0.2

answer is 0.84 on the negative side
