A 240kg spaceship is travelling at 1500m/s. The pilot brakes and the spaceship comes to complete stop. How much work is done by the brakes?
W = 1/2 x m x v2
W = 1/2 x 2400 x 15002
W = 2 700 000 000 (J)
Why is it that the mass changes from 240kg to 2400? This was on the CGP physics online version of the book. Just dont get why.
if you could explain that would be great. Thanks x
240kg to 2400 If i am not mistaken it is changing the Kg into Newtons
Ek = 1/2xMV^2
M = 240
V = 1500
= 1/2 x 240 x 1500^2
=120 x 2,250,000
= 270,000,000 J
Most likely a mistake made by the CGP Book.
