Case Studies!

Showing 1 to 9 of 9

Case studies are a nightmare for me! any body got any great ways to learn them, tell me the strange things too cause they usually work the best for me!

make revision cards of the case studies in bullet point form, and colour/highlight them. then stick them on a wall by your desk/bed or wherever. read them every now and again. that usually works for me. good luck :)

Just make a booklet of say 10-15 facts for each case study (maybe more for the more complex ones) then you have all of the notes in one organised place. Perhaps make acronyms or rhymes for each of the main parts of a case study; especially useful for the names of tropical storms etc.

Heres a crazy idea: have you ever played the game where you have to stick a piece of paper to your head and guess a person name/object/other? Play that with a couple of friends but with geography case studies instead, might be worth a try.

I make a case study sheet that contains every case study for that topic. Just summerise each case study in bullet points. Every time you come to revise geography read through them all then you are able to literally visualise them in your head. Also, read the notes on bbc bitesize for them. I have just satrted to make mind maps of the ones I've learn't, it helps to renforce them into your memory. It's a bit hard to explain but I hope it helps.

Sounds simple, but the thing that works for me is just reading them over and over, sometimes out loud. And then getting my family to test me over and over until I can quote it word for word

One thing my teacher told me today is that you don't need to know every case study perfectly, just make sure that you know enough to write about, and that you can quote a few names or numbers as these give you extra marks and show the examiner that you know what you are talking about (even if you don't).
