this is for the entire paper:

Section A (1 hour 15 minutes):

  • Spend about 15 minutes reading and annotating the texts-seriously, people who don't annotate get worse mark, because annotating=planning.
  • Question 1-pick out about 8 pieces of information or something- 12 minutes.
  • Question 2-pick out presentation devices, explain how the headline is effective- 12 minutes.
  • Question 3-you pick something out and sort of analyse it.- 12 minutes.
  • Question 4- you compare the 2 texts and analyse each text-so perhaps one is more positive and the other is more negative- 24 minutes.

Section B (1 hour):

  • Question 5- the question will ALWAYS be inform, explain and/or describe. If it says inform you basically have to state some facts or something- 25 minutes.
  • Question 6: The questiong will ALWAYS be argue, persuade and/or advise. This means you are trying to convince someone about one side. On argue and perhaps advise, you have to consider the other side of the arguement and be more rational but on persuade you overexaggerate, anything. 35 minutes.
