Showing 1 to 19 of 19

How did everyone find it? everyone who took it at my school found it really hard.

Everyone at my school found it really hard as well. We did C1 and C2 and C1 was tough as well. All the past papers i have done i didn't find to bad but this was completly different. Hoping that the grade boundaries will be low as I was hoping for an A which I need as i want to apply for vet med at uni.

it was awful!

The most horrendous core 2 exam I've ever come across! An utter and diabolical nightmare of a paper! Mind you, everyone I've spoken to thought it was dreadful so I'm hoping for rock bottom grade boundaries like 20/75 for an A!

I wish! Hahah.

But yeah, it was pretty difficult in comparison to previous past papers I'd done. There was one question that was only worth like 2 marks but it really stumped me, haha.

I'm sure if you tried your best it'll be alright though :)

Thanks, lol, I know what you mean about the tiny sub-questions which were nigh on impossible! Hopefully you're right about us coming through ok but god it was a dreadful paper -- almost died of severe sprainage of brain tissue part way through on that trig question which just WOULDN'T WORK no matter how many times I divided by costheta or whatever! :)

lol, I know :(   hate AQA....hate hate hate! The core 1 exam in January was hardly a breeze either! It just annoys me that having done every single past paper since 2005 and been fine with them ALL -- they then confront you with this nightmare on the day when it's YOUR turn to take the exam!

Oh my days, don't even remind me of that question... I can't remember whether I eventually managed to get through that or not (most likely not), and then it made the next part of the question near impossible because you needed the previous answer... -.-

That's exactly what was so annoying about it! I know I didn't get it right; eventually I just sort of went ''uh, well, ok, I can't cancel all those stupid costhetas so I'll just scrap them all and use the equation I'm left with so I at least have SOMETHING to use on the second half of the question!''  Apparently you were supposed to do each bracket equal to zero so you'd get tantheta =-1 and tantheta = plus or minus root three. Ummm.. no. Can't say I had that. I had some ridiculous surd thing which was sort of fractionated because I used the quadratic formula on a hideous quadratic equation I ended up with. I don't think I'll be getting many marks on that one!

Ahh... I would never have got that in a million years, I tried using the trig identities to solve it, i.e. sin^2theta + cos^2theta = 1 and such... It just wasn't working.

Oh well, it's that n√5 question that bothered me, because I knew what I had to do to reach the answer, but I just for some reason kept stumbling trying to do so... Guess there's nothing we can do about it now but hope we did ok :)

ah yeah, I tried to do cos^2theta + sin^2theta = 1 thing as well! Ugh, I know, I hate questions where you know that you can do it but it just isn't working! You feel cheated that it's failing the one time you need to to work! I think I made so many mistakes at the beginning of the paper but I didn't have time to check it thanks to the last few questions of death!

Hate those logs! Area was ok - at least it finally worked out ok - but I thought it was a bit mean to suggest that we resurrect the knowledge of circle theorems -- I used triangles in stead to work it out but that confused me for a while...also, 222m^2 seemed too large for that shaded area!

ive all ready done it did it in jan i think  , doing my c3 exam this thursday

Posted: 21-05-12 07:11 by Connah Greenhalgh - Team GR

It was really hard! Definitely the hardest C2 paper I've done and i did loads of past papers. It wasn't too bad up until the last couple of questions. I think i kind of got the trig one but the logs question was horrendous! I skipped half of it :/ C1 wasn't too bad though

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the results come out in August :)
