Advice on becoming a Business Analyst

Csn someone please help me give me advice. I want to become a business analyst. What would be my steps to break into a first entry level role. I am recent graduate of sociology and would love a career that is different to what I studied, feel I need a change. I feel it is very hard for me to get into a business analyst role, but I would like if someone can help me.
Udacity has a nanodegree which you can complete in 3-6 months (don't even pay much I think it's £750 in total) in business analysis where they have real world projects which will boost your CV.

Have you got any experience sort of experience where you can apply BA tools and techniques to the work you do? You can try to volunteer to work on a new project where you could use BA techniques (many charities are looking for volunteers to run their organisation).

If you dont have any sort of experience, then this should be your first priority prior to applying for roles as a BA. Some I'd recommend are admin, data reporting and finance assistant roles. You'll also need to gain technical skills in SQL, Python, Excel, VBA, SAS, R (there are free resources on github available, and you can use code academy for python). The next step is gaining an accredited qualification, which I'd recommend the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis as it's cheap and very helpful to land your first role .

I'd recommend reading business analysis by sandhya Jane, as a starter then Business Analysis by Malcom Eva (its recommended for the foundation certificate).
