The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (happy book), A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (sad but really good), The Hunger games (I know but it is very good :)) and the Percy Jackson Series. If you want classics...Jane Eyre is quite a good read!

I used to read books all the time - but sadly the exams forced me to leave it :'( I can't wait to start reading again! :D  I totally recommend these:-

 Harry Potter series, JK Rowling

Percy Jackson series, Rick Riordan

The Lost Symbol, Dan Brown - This book has just been gathering dust on my shelf I can't wait to start reading it

Little women, Louisa May Alcott

The Hunger games, Suzanne Collins

 Have fun :D

Have you tried this site? http://www.goodreads.com

Its where I always find different books to read, its awesome.

As for recommendations, I'm into quite dark/depressing books, and I'm not sure what you'd like, but you really should check out The Beach by Alex Garland, or The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh as well (and watch the Danny Boyle film!)

That site is great though for finding popular/recommended books.

Hope this helps! :)

Try 'older stuff' like Lord of the Rings, not everybodies taste, or really old like the Woman in White (not black). Or see if any of your favourite movies were based on books, they're usually quite good (as long as you don't mind spoilers)

Dilly:

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I've read that! :D it's good, also I recommend the inheritance cycle (long), harry potter (long), his dark materials (long), inkheart (long again :P ) or if you're looking for something a little shorter, which is good, but takes less commitment, try lion boy, wolf brother, a series of unfortunate events... or why not read my friend's book here online? :P here, have a link http://www.wattpad.com/story/942452-a-shifter%27s-tale
