Biology AS level help. EDEXCEL organelles.

I just got a question asking about chloroplasts, and think it may come in the exam about what chloroplats contain. I know they contain a thykloid or granules etc, but what else? Circular Dna? Double membrane?

And what other organelles have these. If anyone knows a page which has all the information on organelles, post it.

Also, someone please explain the structure of chloroplasts please.

Chloroplasts are bounded by a double membrane yes, an inner and an outer membrane. The space inbetween is called an intermembranous space.

Chloroplasts also contain ribosomes and circular DNA, circular DNA makes them self-replicating.

The thylakoids are stacked to form grana which contain chlorophyll.

They also contain lipid droplets.

This is as much as I can remember from my unit 1 exam which had all this in however there is a little more here - http://getrevising.co.uk/resources/biology_unit_2_variation_in_cell_structure#s=2

and it does always help to have a labelled diagram, here -
