lots of my friends are doin the british bake off .. the research shouldnt be too hard..

for primary research u should do a survey findin out the types of deserts peeple like .. do u knw who ur target audience is.. i would say u shld aim mainly at teenagers as they are the easiest and the most suitable..

plus do sum product disassembly.. so products that already exist test them out see what u like about..

to extra marks u could think about from the product disassembly wat sort of things u could try out.. cook sum desserts see whether u like it or not.. it counts as primary research..

n any internet research u do counts as secondary..

if u have any examples of past students who did it.. use the theirs as a template it will give u a clear understandin .. if u want i can upload sum of my research as an example :)

good luck..**

I would really like if you could email me one of yours as a template and I think I'll start watching British bake off :)

I just finished this same coursework and mine is on Great British Bake Off too.

The first page is Task Analysis followed by 3 pages on Research; Market Research, Questionnaires etc Which is then followed by a Product Analysis from a local supermarket.

After this you move onto looking into Social, Moral and Environmental factors in food, followed by a Design Criteria/ Specification, which is closely followed by 2 pages of Design ideas (around 10-11 ideas).

After this you are to do a Select or Reject sheet where you look at which of your ideas seemed suitable to your design specification.

You then need to do 3 pages of Modelling Sheets which are the 5 or 6 practicals that you had made at the time, in which you will sensory analyse and evaluate.

You then need to make a sheet about which product you have decided to develop and why. After this you need to make a Development Story which will consist of 2 or 3 pages with each development factor; eg. 1 page for fillings, 1 page for biscuits, 1 page for coatings. You need to include pictures and some sensory testing. (taste charts usually)

You then do a sheet with your final product specification on which you then follow with a sheet showing the Production plan of how you made your products with Quality Control checks and Health and Safety points. (REMEMBER TO INCLUDE PICTURES AT EACH STEP- you will lose a lot of marks if this isn't there).

You also need to look at SATSUMA and identify the scientific principles of the ingredients in your food. Last but not least you have to do a sheet with your final practical on it and evaluate it with sensory analysis and labelling (include a label haha)

If you want extra marks you can do an extra sheet where you get 2 examples of products which are like the one you are going to make and pretend like you have tried them. You do a sensory test on it and then a small evaluation.

Top Tips for Getting High Marks- Be Clear, Concise and Legible while adding in lots of detail. Make sure you comment on any sensory analysis you have done and don't ramble on. If you keep repeating yourself the moderator will think that you don't understand.

I got 89/90 Marks for my coursework by following these steps.

~I know i have been late in replying to this but if you need to make amendments and you're stuck i really hope this helps :)~
