Yep. I'm studying The Road for my AS year. Sparse, and fragmented style of writing to reflect the state of their current world. The characters are given no names so that we don't get too attached, plus 'the man' and 'the boy' could be anyone. No chapters because their lives is a continuous journey. Lack of punctuation and minor sentences like 'Yes.' 'Okay.' shows the lack of humanity/civilization. The world is so bad that conversation is simple. There's a bit in the book where the boy askes 'Whats negotiate?' This shows that they don't do enough of this. The man is on more of physical journey, whereas the boy is on a spiritual journey. Loads more, but i think these are the basics of the structure of the novel. Hope i helped. :]

Good Luck in your exam.
