i put that the uptake of the sodium ions required active transport, which requires ATP. Cyanide affects respiration so no ATP produced so no active transport.

I thought it was alright :D Apart from the cyanide question, what did everyone put for that?

I thought the exam was lush. Way nicer than the one in january. The cyanide question was alright. I put that the uptake of sodium ions was done with the sodium potassium pump which required active transport and therefore ATP. Since cyanide affects respiration, less ATP will be produced and therefore less sodium ions can be taken up by active transport.

For the calculation of the rate of uptake, did everyone get 0.2?

I thought the question on the heart at the end was really nice, you basically just had to reel off a load of facts.

I found whilst doing past papers that they love testing, differences in prokaryotics and eukaryotics, the fact that a correlation doesn't mean a cause, something about the heart and immunity :) Btw i'm uber scared :/
