Psych treatments hasn't come up before but the classification diagnosis question came up in Jan 2012 SO I REALLY HOPE IT ISN'T THAT QUESTION.

Im struggling with Addiction. Research methods you can wing it easily. As long as you get like 10 marks it boosts your grade right up!

My friend does Psychology at uni, and she only got a C over-all. You'l be fine :) think postiviely!

Massive amounts of luck **

I think schizophrenia will be on therapies or classification/diagnosis as they haven't come up in a while, especially psychological treatments

I was told that psychological treatments came up in Jan 2012?! So we think Psychological treatments? Usually peoples predictions are correct so I mainly revise those areas and then just have a quick look at the others.

Is anyone doing addiction? and has anyone got any predictions?! **

For addiction I have a very weird feeling that theory of planned behaviour might come up. It's a possibility even though I don't want it to and i REALLY REALLY hope that for schizo that the psych treatments come up! fingers crossed :)

Everyone thinks it psych treatments so its the main one im revising! fingers crossed. Other people have told me they think addiction will be TPB and media!! I HATE THE MEDIA ONE! ahh. I hope its a 25 mark question instead of loads of little ones..**

My teacher thinks it will be treatments, but she thinks it will include biological ones.

For addiction I hope formation/maintenance comes up. Theory of planned behaviour would be a nightmare.

formation/maintenance? what is that on addiction? like why some people are addicted like the biological appraoch/learning/cognitive?!

Uhh really hope its not biological as its like 4 pages far to much!! I agree though TPB would be awful!! **

Yeah, you have to learn all three theories with respect to why they become addicted, why they maintain an addiction, and why they relapse.

Although I think it might be Psychological treatments be prepared guys because everyone thought that was going to be in Jan Paper 2012 because it hadn't been asked before but instead they asked Classification and Diagnosis again!! Saying that, in all my subjects I have predicted what I thought would come up and THEY DID FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE! Also, does anyone think that the Jan question could come up again for us, because i would not know what to write if it did!? sorry to go on but i just looked at the research methods section for june 2011 paper and it is an absolute joke- I can probably only get about 5 marks from the whole section!! PLUS can someone please tell me how to write a non directional hypothesis>?//???

I havent even looked at research methods. You need like 44 marks to get a B grade, so as long as you get the main points for your essay questions you should be fine, but depends what grade your aiming for.

It is highly unlikely they will repeat the same question, I haven't started revision yet (as I have an exam tomorrow to revise for, yes I know two days to learn all of unit 4 psychology AHHH haha) but I probably won't revise it as its virtually certain it won't come up, but depends, if your really worried about your grade you might as well look at it, if your OK with a B/C you'll be fine. :)

A non-directional hypothesis i- "there will be a significant difference between particpants who ... and those who ..."

It basically predicts that the IV will affect the DV but does not say how. therefore it only predicts a difference between conditions.

where-as a directional will be like "participants who.. will be significantly (faster, better, quicker, etc) at something than participants who..." This is because it predicts how the IV will effect the DV

THANK YOU! i think maybe i will roughly look over it like for about a few minutes a day before or something! I don't think it will come up but i just get paranoid :S

I want to Psychology at Uni so I am really looking for an A- this really isn't going to happen considering unit 3 :( I do like Schizophrenia and Addiction more though but just research methods is soo dull.

kkk thanks I think they might ask us how to do that in the exam so now i am prepared!

Good luck in your exams :)
