A2 AQA English Literature LITB3

Hey guys,

so I'm trying to attempt my first LITB3 section B question and I'm stuck before I'm started. Does anybody have any idea how to lay out the essay? Our teacher said something about splitting it into sections of language, structure etc but that seems to me a bad idea. Do anyone know how to set it out?

Thank you ***

First of all, I think you write an introduction that includes the three books, and how they are linked to whatever question you pick to answer. Then start with the one you probably like to write about most, or the one you have more knowledge of and talk about the gothic/pastoral aspects of it that have been specified in the question. For example, if it says that women are presented in gothic fiction as weak, innocent victims, you then talk about the three books and their presentations of women. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is not weak and innocent, she breaks the social codes of a sixteenth century woman...

In Wuthering Heights, there are strong women and weak, innocent victims. Talk about how the writers present them, etc.

Thank you for that... you made more sense in that paragraph than my teacher did in half an hour :-)
