      • Transport system for food (mainly dissolved sugars) made in the leaves to the rest of the plant for immediate use or for storage
        • This process is called translocation
      • Held in the stem of the plant
      • Transported substances can travel in both directions
      • Made of living cells with small pores to allow cell sap through
