  • Why did the Cold War start?
    • Truman and Stalin were very influential powers who were fighting over dominance.
    • Stalin had control over all of Eastern Europe, giving him more power than Truman
    • America had developed the first atomic bomb, leading to a power struggle between the Big Three
    • The Big Three had no common enemy as Hitler had committed suicide.
    • America was capitalist whilst the USSR was communist. They had opposing governments
