  • Why Richard lost the throne.
    • Personality
      • He lacked the warm personality of Edward IV.
      • This caused him to struggle when trying to win round supporters
    • Foreign Policy
      • Policy with Brittany caused France to support Henry Tudor
    • Poor Establishment
      • Richard failed to efficently establish himself on the throne.
      • Which made him lack support, e.g. the princes, he didn't assit in helping them
    • Ruthless behaviour
      • His ruthless behaviour just before he gained the throne limited the chances of support
      • E.g. imprisonment and execution of Hastings without a trial.
      • E.g. poor treatment of his nephews (Princes in the tower)
    • Battle of Bosworth
      • He recieved little support and what he did have weren't willing to cooperate
      • This didn't help when it came to impulsive decisions of charging at Henry Tudor
