  • Why are oceans important?
    • THE AIR WE BREATHE
      • More than 50% of the air we breathe comes form the oceans.
        • They produce this from the plants that live in the ocean like kelp. It produces oxygen during photosynthesis
          • If there is too much heat in the water, there is a high risk that the animals and plants may die.
            • If seafood and underwater plants are gone., it would create a disaster in natural eco-system and foodchains.
              • Could create food shortage, and start starvation.
                • DEATH in longer terms.
            • If these creatures die, we won't be able to make a lot of medicines.

            • The ocean provides us seafood, and many spices.
            • MEDICINE
              • Many medical products come from the ocean, including ingredients
              • ECONOMOY
                • $282 billion is the amout the US ocean ecomy produces in goods and services
                  • 3 million people depend on jobs form the ocean economy
