- Why crimes have evolved
- In 20th Century became more multicultural and equal. As attitudes changed new laws were needed to support these changes. Some laws that were previously criminal were decriminlaised
- Race crime
- In 1968, race relations act made certain crimes race crimes. This caused criminal courts to have the power to give harsher sentences for crimes like murder, if classed as hate crime
- Drug crimes
- Since introduction of the misuse of drugs act, 1971, Supply and taking drugs has been illegal. Controversial as many drugs such as weed are used as medicines
- Driving offences
- Many driving crimes are totally new due to the huge high numbers of cars on the roads.
