  • What was life like in 1900?
    • The Peasants
      • 4 out of 5 people were peasants
      • They had little food, especially when harvests were bad.
      • They're average life expectancy was less than 40
      • There was not enough land to go around
        • Most of them were in debt for their land
        • The peasants were angry with the landowners for taking all the land.

      • Received large contracts and loans from the government
      • Had good living conditions
        • Had large houses
