  • What happened at Yalta?
    • The Yalta Conference was where Britain, America and the USSR came together in February 1914 in Yalta, Ukraine. The discussion was three months before the end of the Second World War.
      • At the conference they discussed what they should do with Germany. They split it up into four zones - each country would occupy a zone. They did the same to Berlin.
    • It was agreed that the freed people of Europe would be helped to set up their own democratic and self governing countries.
    • USSR - Stalin
    • Agreed that Eastern Europe would be a Soviet Sphere of Influence.
    • The United Nations would replace the failed League of Nations.
    • Britain - Winston Churchill
    • USA - Roosevelt
