- Loss of the roman army: no one to maintain law and order. No engineering or builders. No one to stop invasion.
- Loss of one ruler government: no overall commission or pay for publichealth schemes. They couldn't afford the time or money for public health systems or education.
- Wars and chaos:led to the destruction of books and libraries. It became far more dangerous to travel.
