    • Germany could not join in the new League of Nations.
    • Germany must hand over its colonies abroad to the winning countries.
    • The war was Germany's fault, so Germany must pay for the cost of the war- £6.6billion.
      • They had to take the blame of the whole war- which is not true.
      • This money was known as reparations. It was paid to the winners in installments until 1988.
    • Large areas of German land was used to create new countries for people who had been previously ruled by others-Poland and Zechoslovakia
    • No German soliders should enter the Rhineland, an area of Grermany next to France.
    • Germany was only allowed a small army (100,000 soliders), a small navy (six battleships), and no tanks, submarines or airforce.
    • Germany must never unite with Austria again.
