  • What affects Biodiversity?
    • Climate Change
      • In order to species to adapt to new climate they must migrate and follow the climate patterns they are most suited to
      • Reduced genetic diversity means that species are less able to adapt
      • There are problemswith migration
        • Major human developments
        • large bodies of water
        • mountain ranges
        • agricultural land
    • Agriculture
      • Clearing of vegetation and modeern agriculture both reduce genetic diversity
      • Two types of Modern agriculture:
    • Human population growth
      • An increase in the population has caused greater demand of food and consumer goods
      • -We alter ecosystems to provide oursleveswith food
      • -We destroy and fragment habitats
      • -We use more and more of the Earth's resources
      • -We pollute the atmosphere
    • Extinction
      • Occurs when the last member of a spcies dies or ceases to exist
      • Scientists belive increase of human activity caused extinction of animals
      • Scientists  believe that we are the start of a mass extinction as result of human activity than natural disaster/climate change
