- Provided wider right to vote than in countries such as Great Britian and France
- Women were able to vote on the same terms as men and allowed to become deputies in the Reichstag and state parliaments
- System of Proportional representation enabled even smaller parties to win seats in Reichstag and influence government decisions
- Full democracy in local government as well as central government
- Constitution also set out clearly the rights of the individual
- 'Fundamental Rights and Duties of German citizens were guranteed in the second part of the constitution.-'All Germans equal before the law'
- Refrendums could be called for by the president,the Reichstrat,or by people's request if a tenth of the electroate applied for one.
