- Warm Front
- Associated with prolonged light drizzle and status clouds
- The leading edge of this front is the start of a warm sector of air
- Is shown on a weather map as half cirlces connected to a line that shall show where the line is flowing over
- Cold Front
- The gradient of this front is often steep; this creates a narrow line of heavy showers and thunderstorms
- The air temperature behind the leading edge of this front is colder
- This front is shown on a weather map as triangles connected to a line which shows the direction the front is heading
- This front is associated with cumulonimbus clouds
- Occluded Front
- This is a more complex weather front and is associated with low pressure
- This front is formed when a cold front catches up and over takes a warm front
- This is shown on a weather map by a half circle being next to a triangle repeatedly on a line showing the direction the front is going
