      • Example is HIV
      • They invade and reproduce inside of cells in other organisms

      • The host cell does it's own machinery to do the viruses work
      • The host cell replicates to make viral cells
      • In order to inject there RNA and DNA they first need to connect to thye host cell surface
      • To do this they use their attachment proteins to bindto complentary receptor protein on host cells
      • some viruses can only infect one type of cells
