    • Christians and the Holy Bible
      • Its the only source of moral authority for some Christians.
        • Contains the word of God e.g. how to live your lives and worship God.
        • Contains the laws of God that Christians believe are Gods laws on how to act e.g. The 10 commandments.
          • 10 Commandments - Love God, Do not murder, do not commit adultery, give to the poor and needy, do not lie, support the ways of peace, honour your parents and family members, love your neighbour, do not steal, do not be envious to others.
        • Contains the teachings of Jesus about how he died for our sins. Also it contains teachings about how Christians should live their lives e.g. Sermon on the Mount.
        • The leaders of the early Church - What happened after Jesus' death and how Christianity began. The early leaders were St peter and St Paul who gave moral guidance on how Christians should behave.
      • Some people believe that it is literally the word of God, however others believe that it is not as it was interpreted by humans who are known for making mistakes
    • Authority Of the Church
      • Christians believe that God communicates to them through the Church.
      • Church is considered to be the body of Christ.
      • Christians believe that God guides the Church in its moral teachings.
      • Church leaders have studied teachings for man yeats so they are carrying out Gods will.
      • Christians know how to behave in certain situations.
    • Christian conscience and Situation ethics
      • Every human has a conscience which is given to us by God.
        • Christians are taught to never go against their conscience.
        • Some Christians believe that your conscience is imperfect and does not work, while others say its a useful tool.
        • Used when you have a dilemma e.g. doctors do not have to carry out legal abortions if their conscience tells then its morally wrong.
      • Situation ethics are a Christians first approach to making moral decisions.
        • They are based on making the most loving decision possible.
          • Some Christians only use his as a basis of making decisions.
    • Human Rights and Christian attitudes to them.
      • The human rights are life, food, free speech, equality, education, healthcare and privacy. - Human Rights Act 1998
      • The government introduced this to prevent abuse of rights.
      • Christians believe that Human Rights were created by God in God's image.
      • Many Christian values have been used in human rights.
        • Still differences between Christian values and human rights.
    • Christian Attitudes on Genetic Engineering.
      • Genetic engineering means changing the genetic make up of an organism, which can be seen as playing God.
        • Has potential as it cures certain diseases.
        • Very controversial.
      • Christians are divided in their views on genetic engineering.
        • More liberal Christians see it as an opportunity to be involved in God's creative work and help those who are sick and suffering.
        • Conservative  Christians are concerned that it may be 'playing God' and could be used for wrong reasons.
