        • Loans under The Dawes plan withdrew
      • 1930 - Support for extreme parties rose

      • 1933 - Von Papen and Hitler coaaliton (Chancellor)
      • 1930 Heinbruning made chancellor, but didn't have a majority
        • Relied on article 48 - death of Reichsatg
    • Section 3 - Hitler's road to Fuhrer
      • 27th February 1933 - Reichstag Fire
        • Before a general election (Only 3 nazis in cabinet)
        • Hindnenburg signed ' Decree for the protection of people and state'
          • Com/Soc newspaper restricted. Arrests without trial
      • 23rd March Enabling bill
        • Trade unions replaced with DAF, Press controlled, civil service purged
        • July - Political part ban
        • policy of Gleichschaltung enforced
      • 30th June 1934 -Night of the Long knives
        • Reduced SA to minor role (Himmler expanded **), removed opponents and secured army support
        • Enemies of the state arrested and shot including Ernst roehm
      • 2nd August 1934 - Death of Hindenburg
        • Hitler merged Chancellor and president
