- Illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone under the age of 18
- All tobacco packs must have large,hard hitting health warnings and not allowed to show misleading terms such as low tar, mild or light
- They must also carry a shocking picture warning about the effects of smoking
- All adverts are banned - tobacco companies are not allowed to sponsor events
- It is against the law to smoke in all indoor public places and workplaces
- Smoking is banned in public places like football grounds, railway stations or open air platforms
- You can be prosecuted for smoking while driving as this is regarded as failing to have proper control of your vehicle
- You can be given a £50 on the spot fine for littering if you drop a cigarette end
