        • MORE LIKELY to get the job done
        • Means it is LEGITIMATE
      • Some may SIT in COMMITTEES & helps to formulate policy

      • A close relationship with the govt means they RARELY have to use DIRECT ACTION

      • They have NO LINK with the govt
        • HARDER  to INFLUENCE the GOVT
      • Instead, they exert influence through MASS MEDIA or DIRECT ACTION
        • E.g. PUBLIC CAMPAIGNS/STRIKES/PROTESTS/PETITIONS
        • MORE DEMOCRATIC than insiders
          • They have NO LINK with the govt
            • HARDER  to INFLUENCE the GOVT
      • Some of them may be denied govt access
        • OR they may be MORE RADICAL
