  • Types of attachment
    • Type A: Insecure avoidant (anxious) 20-25%, these children explore freely  but do not seek proximity to the care giver.
      • show no reaction when the care giver leaves and make no contact with caregiver
        • they show little stranger anxiety
          • likely to have a caregiver who is insensitive and rejects their needs
    • Type C: insecure resistant (ambivalent) 3% of British toddlers, these toddlers seek greater proximity than the others
      • they are also regarded as being fussy, even when the care giver is present
